　　相信看过电视剧《雪山飞狐》的人，都或多或少会为袁紫衣出家而不能释怀，那么，袁紫衣为什么不跟胡斐在一起呢？
　　其实，书中写袁紫衣本身就是在尼姑庵里面长大，后来出家是对她刺杀生父，有违天伦的惩戒，需在佛前长伴青灯赎罪。这些不过小说自圆其说的托词而已，事实上袁紫衣下山刺父是真，但是凤天南最终也不是死在她的剑下，并没有真正弑父，完全可以网开一面而不用出家赎罪。
　　但是为什么金庸坚持让袁紫衣出家呢？如果你了解《雪山飞狐》的创作背景，就会明白了，这其实是一个小说次序导致的。
　　因为我们在电视上看到的《雪山飞狐》，其实是两部小说合并来的。另一部叫《飞狐外传》。
　　金庸写出《雪山飞狐》后，很多读者对胡斐这个人感兴趣，觉得意犹未尽，纷纷来信。于是金庸应大家之意，挥笔写了《飞狐外传》，对胡斐这个人的平生做了补充概述，也就是胡斐的少年时期和成长历程。
　　这样，等于是金庸先写了《雪山飞狐》后面部分，然后才写的前面部分。而他在创作《雪山飞狐》时，压根儿也没想到自己会去写《飞狐外传》，没有事先设伏。就好比他写《射雕》时，没有去想后来写的《天龙八部》，以至降龙十八掌无法自圆其说，逼得去修改。
　　金庸在写《雪山飞狐》时，根本没有去想过袁紫衣，程灵素这些人。直到后来应读者之意去增写《飞狐外传》时，为增加小说的精彩才写出了袁紫衣，程灵素等人物来。
　　试想胡斐一个少年英侠闯荡江湖，身边居然没有一个美女相伴，岂不大失色彩？并且也显得太没有魅力了。估计胡斐都会气得从纸里跳出来跟他争吵。于是金老夫子大笔一挥，给他配置了袁紫衣还有程灵素。
　　但是问题来了，由于之前写的故事，胡斐在雪山上是孤身一人，邂逅苗若兰后一见钟情。那么，袁紫衣和程灵素去哪啦？
　　至此，金庸不可能再回头去改《雪山飞狐》的结局吧？所以他只能在袁紫衣一出场就事先设定好了她悲催的命运，无论如何都不能跟胡斐在一起。她还算好的，被安排出家为尼，至少还能活。而程灵素，只能死翘翘了。
　　谈及金庸小说里的女主，袁紫衣无疑是特不受欢迎和喜爱的一个，她得到的是众人的万般厌恶和纷纷指责。可是谁又去想她悲催的命运是谁造成的，她一出场就注定了打酱油回家，命不由己，又奈何兮？

　　《飞狐外传》的女主角都是很奇特的人物，不过，袁紫衣的奇特处倒不是这个角色本身有任何特异的地方，而是作者为了胡斐必须有孑然一身的大侠宿命，不得已而将袁紫衣的举止行为描绘得牵强与不合逻辑。
　　袁紫衣的某方面性格与胡斐有些相似，两人都是滑稽、聪明机变、不按牌理出牌的武功高手，一开始还是她不停地作弄胡斐。这样胡闹的行为，或许可解释成她原本就对胡斐有意思，事实上两人确是同气相求，志趣相近，称得上是一对天造地设的佳侣。只不过后来情节愈演愈离谱，袁紫衣原来是袁缁衣，法名圆性，是个出家人。接着，这位新派修行人不断地抢夺各派掌门人的位置，又以玉凤凰相赠胡斐表心意，岂料半路杀出个程灵素，形成二女争一男的尴尬场面。袁程二人表面上是君子之争，事实上几乎有山雨欲来风满楼的态势：胡程二人单独相处时，袁紫衣便神出鬼没地冒出来。这一幕文斗场面，演变至后来，就变成周芷若与赵敏武斗的激烈情节。
　　袁紫衣的性格相似胡斐，又怪异得让人摸不着头脑，因此，姑且说她是特立独行的女侠吧。
