儒林外史梅玖的人物形象和性格特点

　　儒林外史梅玖的人物形象是怎么样的
　　在《儒林外史》里，梅玖只是一个小人物。但这个小人物却可以说是当今社会某些人的祖师爷。
　　梅玖年纪轻轻便进了学成了秀才，这在薛家集可是个了不起的事件，有读者形象地称他为集上的首席学者。年轻就是财富，保不准数年后金榜题名，也能弄个知县老爷当当。所以，村里人对梅三相便额外多了一份敬意，宴请新聘的塾师周进，梅玖便是当然的陪客；而梅玖当然也自我感觉非常之好，因为又有了一次炫耀自己新方巾的绝好的机会。
　　少年得志，张狂个一时片刻，本无可厚非；但有些人非要把自己的满足建立在别人的尴尬甚至痛苦之上，这就不是性格问题而是品行有亏了。可惜的是，首席学者梅玖就是这样的新锐。六十多岁的老童生周进，面对在庠的梅相公，表现得很谦让，不肯僭梅玖作揖，严格遵守着社会定下的等级制度。而梅玖呢，竟然没有给周进以丝毫的同情，更不用说对一个老人起码儿的尊敬。尽管他说今日不同，但紧接着就搬出老友是从来不同小出友序齿的学校规矩，然后又即兴创作恶作剧地编了一首宝塔诗，用反挑的方式讽刺周进还不是秀才；最后又貌似恭维实则挖苦地预言周进今秋就会进学。矜持、傲慢、讽刺、挖苦，语言之犀利、态度之刻薄，如把把尖刀戳在了周进的心上。
　　对梅玖的言行，席上的其他人没有谁认为不妥，周进尽管脸上羞的红一块，白一块却无力反驳或反击，只得承谢众人喝下这杯苦涩的酒。
　　一个取得最低功名的老友秀才，就可以把小友且年过六十，从年龄上可以作他爷爷的周进踩在脚下，任意羞辱。这是多么残忍的制度！读书人应该是知书达礼的，应该是温文尔雅的，可为什么刚刚踏上仕途经济的半个台阶就让身上流淌的人性的血液流失殆尽了呢？
　　如果梅玖只是个案，我们还可以为这样的制度辩解；而现实却是，一旦登阶便为非人竟很不幸地成为一种较为普遍、较为正常的现象。王惠，在周进面前飞扬跋扈，借评论梅玖的梦自吹自擂，夸耀自己的举人身份；范进，中举后母亲去世，不遵丁忧之制外出秋风；荀玫，为了做官竟想瞒报父亲病故的消息；匡超人，为了找个官场的靠山，做了陈世美而了无歉疚之心
　　时至今日，梅玖的阴魂在某些人的大脑里仍旧扎着根发着芽，有些人爬上了某个位子后便忘乎所以，目中无人，对属下吆五喝六，全无半点人的影子。据说一位不到四十岁的局长，称呼那些五十多岁的员工，一概以小贯之，小赵，小钱，小孙，小左而且据说这位局长不久还要高升。如果支撑这个社会的骨架都是这般非人的东西，我们还有什么指望？
　　风水轮流转。几年之后，周进中了进士做了大官，而梅玖依然是个秀才，并且在例行的考核中只得了四等，被山东学道范进一番斥责，命令左右将他扯上凳去，照例责罚。眼看屁股要开花，梅玖急中生智：现任国子监司业周蒉轩先生，讳进的，便是生员的业师。他知道范进是周进的门生，便扯了这羞人的谎，从而权且免打。黄小田的评语是：不意‘小友’能救‘老友’屁股。诙谐的背后是对梅玖健忘与无耻的冷峻嘲讽。
　　梅玖的这次冒认业师，偶然中有必然。如果说当初他对周进的调侃、奚落是因了势，小人得势大都如此，更何况这势是贴了官家的标签的。这次则是因为利，别说给周进作学生，就是喊周进作爷爷作祖宗，也绝对心甘情愿。至于嘱咐观音庵里的和尚把周老师旧日书写的红纸都久已贴白了的联对，拿些水喷了，揭下来裱一裱，收着才是，尽管肉麻，但实实在在是情理之中的动作。因为如果真的能靠上这棵树，说不定自己会受到庇荫，不远的将来也会好了，我中了。退一步想，即便捞不是什么实实在在的好处，一旦有危急，喊一声我老师是周进，那就满天乌云都散了。
　　梅玖并不孤单。《儒林外史》第一回的那个也是读书人的胖子，说话时七拐八拐总要让自己与朝中大佬危素发生点儿关系以炫耀；虞华轩痛恨之极的五河县，逢迎拍马竟然成为众人竞赛的核心项目。心艳功名富贵而媚人下人是那个社会的常态。而今日之域中，四处伸手扯虎皮做大旗、涎皮赖脸认权贵作干佬、满脸谄笑巴结上司的人也实在是难以计数，倘吴敬梓活在现世，便是十部外史也写成了。
　　梅玖的无耻在与荀玫的对话中发挥到了极致，他能将失败与挫折演化为成功与荣耀。考了四等无所谓，关键自己是四等的第一，而且是学台特地把我考在这名次，以便当堂发落，说出周先生的话，明卖个情。这明明是阿Q的先祖。亏他说得出，亦亏作者写出。然世上正有此等人，莫嫌其写得过分。黄小田的评语很无奈。一部外史，似梅玖一样无是非之心、无羞恶之感的无耻之人，儒林的败类举不胜举。严贡生横行乡里，鱼肉百姓，连自家兄弟的家产也不放过，却向范进、张敬斋自我介绍：小弟只是一个为人率真，在乡里之间，从不晓得占人寸丝半粟的便宜。说得慷慨激昂、脸不变色。王德、王仁兄弟，拍着桌子高喊：念书的人全在纲常上下功夫。一旦银子到手，纲常就全进了下水道。匡超人，吹嘘自己编的程墨销路广以至家家书案上供着先儒匡子之神位；被人点出错误，竟然还要强辩，就是不肯承认自己的无知。让人遗憾且痛心的是，二百年过去了，这样的洋相在钢筋混凝土的建筑里、在纵横的立体交叉桥上的每一平方厘米的空间，不用拿放大镜也能找到清晰的影子。
　　不是我写得精彩，生活本身就这样精彩。我终于明白了，作家们还真的不是在谦虚。
