儒林外史萧云仙的主要事迹萧云仙个性分析

　　鲁迅曾评价《儒林外史》虽云长篇，颇同短制，然而这只是对其结构的表面而宏观的评价。为使小说情节像现实生活一样事物之间充满隐秘的联系，并使读者感受到小说中形形色色的人物生活在同一时代，作者在全书内容的前后呼应、相互联系上煞费苦心。
　　那么，萧云仙出现的三十九回、四十回是怎样与前后情节相互联系的呢？
　　一、三十四回中庄绍光奉旨见天子的路上遇到了两个着墨塑造的人物，萧昊轩与卢信侯。
　　与全书的一贯结构技巧相符合，卢信侯在之后章回中多次出现，如三十五回中去元武湖拜见辞爵还家的庄绍光，以及在第三十七回的泰伯祠大祭中担任司玉，最后一次则出现在四十一回与庄濯江同游秦淮河。而萧昊轩直到三十八回才被尤公再次提及，之后又以萧云仙的父亲身份出现。若如章培恒先生所言，三十八回到四十回的前面一大半均为窜入，那么萧昊轩就在三十四回后再未出现过，这不是与《儒林外史》的谋篇布局很不相符吗？
　　二、三十六回中曾提到虞博士出资帮助武书的母亲旌表，原文如下：
　　博士道：足见年兄才名，令人心服。若有诗赋古文更好了，容日细细捧读。令堂可曾旌表过了么？武书道：先母是合例的。门生国家寒，一切衙门使费无出，所以迟至今日。门生实是有罪。虞博士道：这个如何迟得？便叫人取了笔砚来，说道：年兄，你便写起一张呈子节略来。即传书办到面前，吩咐道：这武相公老太太节孝的事，你作速办妥了，以便备文申详。上房使用，都是我这里出。
　　四十回中，武书与萧云仙初见后，又去监里见虞博士：
　　武书送出大门，看见监里斋夫飞跑了来，说道：大堂虞者爷立候相公说话。武书走去见虞博士。虞博士道：年兄，令堂旌表的事，部里为报在后面，驳了三回，如今才准了。牌坊银子在司里，年兄可作速领去。武书谢了出来。
　　次日武书又去回拜萧云仙。
　　如果只是为了塑造虞博士爱惜人才、推崇孝廉的人物形象，这一细节只需在三十六回出现，后续情节完全可以略过不提。然而作者在四十回又提到旌表的事情，是为了与前文相照应，足见其用心之深，若是后人窜入，将很难考虑到这一点。
　　三、其他联系。如萧云仙请沈先生在青枫城教书，数年后又在扬州重逢，从而引出沈先生的女儿沈琼枝。又如萧云仙凭借弹子绝技救了甘露僧，甘露僧就是一个在情节前后连缀中起到重要作用的任务，同时，这一情节又与萧昊轩用弹弓打贼人相呼应，体现出父子二人的身怀绝技和嫉恶如仇。
　　由此可见，作者着意使萧云仙的相关情节与其他情节建立起紧密的关系，萧云仙这一人物在《儒林外史》中的嵌合度很高。
　　原文细节的佐证
　　若想判断三十九回和四十回是否为后人窜入，则需细读这两回的文本，揣摩它们与吴敬梓本人创作特点的异同。
　　一、景物描写
　　四十回中萧云仙赏雪的景物描写十分引人注目：
　　看那山上，树木凋败，又被北风吹的凛凛冽冽的光景，天上便飘下雪花来。萧云仙看了，向着木耐说道：我两人当日在青枫城的时候，这样的雪，不知经过了多少，那时倒也不见得苦楚。如今见了这几点雪，倒觉得寒冷的紧。木耐道：想起那两位都督大老爷，此时貂裘向火，不知怎么样快活哩！
　　陈美林先生在《谈〈儒林外史〉的景物描写》中对比了王冕观荷与马二先生游西湖的景物描写，前者是清新可爱的活文字（苞子上清水滴滴，荷叶上水珠滚来滚去），后者则是暗淡无光的烂调（一处是金粉楼台，一处是竹篱茅舍，一处是桃柳争妍，一处是桑麻遍野），提出吴敬梓在进行景物描写时根据人物的心境来分别描绘他们眼中的景象，从而烘染人物的思想情趣。而此处插入的景物描写尽管十分简短，却很好地烘托出萧云仙内心的无限凄凉，又带有几分诗意。
　　《儒林外史》中出现的景物描写并不多，根据陈美林先生的总结也基本可以分为两类，而在活文字类中的景物描写多为哀景，颇有古诗中触景生情的意味，除了广武山雪景外，有代表性的几处如下：
　　1）第八回中娄公子还乡途中：两公子坐著一只小船，萧然行李，仍是寒若朴素；看见两岸桑荫稠密，禽鸟飞鸣，不到半里多路，便是小港，里边撑出船来，卖些菱藕。
　　2）第四十八回王玉辉去南京：王玉辉老人家不能走旱路，上船从严州、西湖这一路走。一路看着水色山光，悲悼女儿，凄凄惶惶那天色阴阴的，像个要下雨的一般。
　　3）第五十五回盖宽登雨花台：望着隔江的山色，岚翠鲜明，那江中来往的船只，帆樯历历可数。那一轮红日，沉沉的傍着山头下去了。
　　同第四十回广武山赏雪一样，都是寥寥几笔，点到为止，却在小说一出出的闹剧之间注入了具有生命意识的悲剧美，在紧凑的情节和人物对白中添加了静态美，或为厌弃俗世，或为感喟人生，或为睹物思人，这些富有诗性的文字成为了小说中不可或缺的一部分。再看萧云仙赏雪的描写，作为一个实现了将以七字富天下：垦荒均田、兴水利；以六字强天下：人皆兵，官皆将的颜李学派政治理想的人物，却落得一个失意下场，天上飘下的雪花，是作者对被埋没人才的悲悯，是作者本人理想的一种创伤，陈美林先生认为，作品中这些形象的描绘，表明时代已经变迁，这些迂阔无当的理想并不能治疗当时社会的痼疾，这也就在一定程度上表明作者对礼乐兵农这些理想是否能改变黑暗现实的怀疑，这显然比坚持这些理想的颜、李前进了一步。据此，本人认为这样的景物描写与全书艺术风格相一致，不可能由他人窜入。
