为什么说他有大错，原因就在于他是个普通人，然而他所处的职位却要求他本不该这么普通。执法长老，这是一个不能犯错的岗位。有些人可能不太理解，觉得我是不是对白世镜太苛刻了。不是的，如果他是四大长老或者是传功长老哪怕是副帮主，犯了错插自己一刀都不能叫不可接受，但他是执法长老。这是个什么样的岗位呢？这恰恰是所有组织里最不能犯错的岗位，司法机关办一千件好案子都不算功劳，但只要办了一件冤案就可能威严尽失，大家想想是不是这样的？但在大型组织中，有多层管理者可以内部背锅消化，但在丐帮，白世镜是最大的头了，最高检或者最高院搞错一件冤案，你们自己感受一下。所以这不是我对他苛刻，而是他自己所处的位置就不能犯错，他自己也十分清楚所以才从睡人家老婆一路发展到谋杀人家老公再到眼睁睁看着乔峰倒台而不能施以帮助，白世镜的恐惧来源不单单是死亡，主要还是他的声誉。 甚至如果允许我开开脑洞的话，我会认为白世镜最大的担心还是丐帮的声誉。白世镜可以死甚至可以睡人老婆杀人老公，这都没有什么了不起，刀口舔血的江湖人，我白世镜就是干了，你们大可以向我复仇，我大可以这几十年的名声都不要了又能如何？但丐帮执法长老绝不可以睡队友老婆，他不完全怕马大元杀了他，但怕丐帮副帮主因为这个杀了丐帮执法长老！此段为无根据脑洞，不同意可以略过。 说回白世镜的大错：一个普通男人经不住色诱可耻么？其实不算丢人。经不住色诱睡了别人老婆，可耻么？可耻但它的影响范围很难扩大化。所以这是个私德问题。一个最高层执法者睡了别人老婆可耻么？这已经不能用可耻来形容了，他影响的是组织内司法体系的威严。一个最高层执法者睡了组织内成员的老婆可耻么？可耻这两个字用在这里实在太轻飘飘了，因为它的影响已无法估量，这已经不是私德问题，是个政治问题了。 所以白世镜可怜，他这样一个只有普通人资质的人（他在小说里无论武功地位自然不是普通人能比的，但他的心性确实只能算个普通人）经历这样的阴谋不能不令人唏嘘，毕竟白世镜这一辈子都在努力为丐帮效力也在努力完善私德以匹配他的职位，这样一个努力的人最终晚节不保名誉扫地实在是可怜。但他也可恨，他在那样的位置却没有达到那个位置该有的能力，并因此导致丐帮的动荡，乃至成为丐帮阶段性衰落的源头之一，完全以普通人来为他作为借口，我觉得连白世镜自己都不好意思接受，他最终坦然一死，因为他毕竟是个好人，一个道德良知在整个天龙里都堪称中上的好人。圣人讲德不配位，简单来看只是四个字，但如果真的碰上了实际情况尤其是跟政治相关的实际情况，这四个字是要流血的，而且不止会让一个人流血，乃至流完了血还要带着整个组织堕入衰败。
