倚天屠龙记中空见大师为什么要谢逊找屠龙刀

　　空见大师为何在临死前要谢逊去找屠龙刀，为何他认为谢逊只有找到屠龙刀中的秘密才能报仇呢？
　　其实空见大师是世上少数知晓屠龙刀真相的人，这与他的身世有关。空见大师是少林四大神僧之首，年纪很大，武功也很高，但他究竟是什么来历谁也不知道。古今五大神功之一的少林金刚不坏体及少林另一奇功少林九阳功空见都是传承人，三渡等少林高僧也很看重空见，他为何在少林如此受重视呢，只因他的来头太大。原来空见在很小的时候就进了少林，送他来的人正是神雕侠杨过。杨过与少林的天鸣、无相、无色等人交好，他送来少林的人自然很受少林重视。杨过为何送空见到少林呢，与空见的身世有关，原来他是郭破虏的儿子，也就是郭靖的孙子。
　　当年襄阳城破，郭靖黄蓉殉城，他们的儿子郭破虏也战死。此时郭破虏三十岁，膝下有一幼子，被杨过救出。杨过与郭破虏是兄弟辈，郭破虏的儿子就是他的侄子。当年郭靖照顾杨过，将他送往重阳宫学艺，而杨过与少林关系好，便将他送往少林学艺。郭靖当年并没有让杨过在重阳宫当道士的意思，杨过也没有让侄子当和尚的意思，仅仅是学武艺而已。在少林知晓空见真实身份的只有天鸣、无色、无相三人，少林最好的资源也往他身上倾注，随着空见的年龄大了，他习惯了少林生活，便不愿离开少林。
　　小时候的事情空见依稀记得，他知晓自己姓郭，也知晓自家爷爷是当年的大侠郭靖，武功盖世，降龙十八掌名震天下，当然也记得一点郭靖黄蓉炼屠龙宝刀的事情，知晓他们把武功秘籍封在宝刀之中，知晓自己父亲郭破虏手中的屠龙刀很厉害，里面还有一个更厉害的秘密。空见成长起来，这些事情变逐渐淡忘，他自己苦练神功，武功盖世，在江湖之中有很高的名望，而身为郭家之后的这个身份对他来说已经不重要了。直到他被徒弟成昆摆了一道，失手倒在谢逊拳头下他才后悔，但谢逊武功智谋都不如成昆，他于是想到了父亲的屠龙刀，想到了屠龙刀中的秘密。可惜他没来得及将秘密说出来，令谢逊抱着宝刀空想了二十年。
　　空见大师的武功，可以从众人对他的评价，以及他的一次战绩来看。当时江湖上都知道，少林四大神僧见闻智性，以空见大师为首，少林三渡起初得知空见大师之死的消息，认为江湖横空出了一位高手，杀死了空见。也就是说少林三渡认为只有横空出世的高手，才能杀死空见，也说明当时能杀死空见的高手不多，最起码三渡认为没有。
　　金花婆婆得知是谢逊杀死了空见大师，金花婆婆凛然一惊，认为谢逊练成了绝世神功，之后谢逊解释：你不用害怕。空见神僧只挨打不还手，他要以广大无边的佛法，渡化我这邪魔外道。说明金花婆婆这些人，也知道空见大师武功之高。
　　谢逊在冰火岛讲述空见大师的时候，评价空见大师的武功是：我怎能跟他相比？差得远了，差得远了！简直是天差地远！张翠山听到之后，认为空见大师把自己的恩师张三丰都比了下去。
　　从谢逊的评价来看，空见大师远胜于他，而谢逊能够如此评价，因为他经历过和空见大师的一场对决。空见大师出场制止谢逊时，轻轻在谢逊肩拍了一下，谢逊大吃一惊，认为以他当时的武功，很难想象有人伸手拍到他身上而不及挡架。所以谢逊说：当时我只吓得全身冰冷，如堕深渊，那人如此武功，要制我死命真是易如反掌。也就是说，空见大师杀谢逊非常简单，而能易如反掌杀死谢逊的，当时江湖中也没有几位。而且空见神僧所练的金刚不坏体，号称是古今五大神功之一，说明空见大师武学天赋和内功都非常高。
