儒林外史中武书武正字是怎样的人物形象分析

　　武书，字正字，南直隶江宁县人，是国子监正式在监读书的监生。江宁本来极近南京，武书又卜居在南京，所以基本可以算是本地人。从人事管理的角度来说，他和虞博士关系最密切，因为虞博士是南京国子监的校长。从朋友交游的角度来说，他和杜少卿、迟衡山最是意气相投，过从密切，是至交好友；个性方面则和迟衡山更为相似，只是相对于迟先生的文雅，质朴更是武正字的本色。
　　应该说，在《儒林外史》书中，武正字是一位比较重要的人物，书末的儒林榜中他且高居二甲第四名，亦算得上是贤士中的贤士了。（关于这个儒林幽榜，再多噜苏几句。专家们似乎意见很不一致，很多人说是后人附骥，但也有人认为就是吴敬梓先生手笔，似乎也各举出过很多证据。我不懂考据，纯粹直感地认为：一甲评得至公，无懈可击；二甲中除了杜慎卿，也都令人信服，不过杜慎卿的才情也的确非同寻常，因此也没有什么大不公；三甲前一半至雷骥也都蛮有道理，后一半颇有商榷余地。整体来说，基本体现了作者对书中人物的褒贬取舍，是可信的，我比较倾向于吴敬梓先生亲笔说。）然而书中却没有武书的本传，其事迹全是零散地插叙在虞博士、郭孝子、萧云仙、沈琼枝、余大先生等人的故事中，全书五十六回回目中甚至没有出现一次他的名字。这一点看似矛盾，其实恰好说明了这个人物在另外一种意义上的重要。《儒林外史》结构上的特色是集诸碎锦，合为帖子（鲁迅《中国小说史略》），而合碎为整的过程中必不可少的是线，这么多主要人物的故事中都有他的存在，可见武正字是一条多么重要的线。
　　事实上，后半部书中的许多故事都是由武书连接、过渡的。虞博士因武书的介绍见到杜少卿，又因杜少卿的介绍见到庄征君，而后有祭先圣南京修礼的泰伯祠大祭，乃是全书的高潮。紧接着由武正字街头遇故郭孝子，引出郭孝子西蜀寻亲以及甘露僧的故事，又由甘露僧引出萧云仙救难明月岭，平少保奏凯青枫城。而数年后萧云仙赴任江淮卫，路过广武山阮公祠，见到武正字的七言古风《广武山怀古》，触动内心莫大感怀，读了又读，竟至凄然泪下。到南京后便去拜访武书，又由武书的引见结识庄征君、虞博士、杜少卿、迟衡山诸贤人，才有后来文武英雄齐汇、五百里内贤人聚矣此是东道主庄濯江的感言的三山门贤人饯别（可惜是饯别）。而庄濯江的出场也是由武书引出来的。武书是四月末的生日，此时正是秦淮河景致渐好的季节，他家里穷，请不起客，杜少卿备了一席果碟，沽了几斤酒，叫了一只小凉篷船，请他看河景（杜少卿此时靠卖文典当过活，也穷得很了，但秉性难移，此事可见一斑），在河上巧遇正请庄征君和卢信侯游河的庄濯江。此外，沈琼枝、余大先生等人的故事中武正字也都起着重要作用。武正字对沈琼枝的考评既补充情节，又为人物性格增色，极其生动。而余大先生把酒问葬事那一节故事里，迟衡山义正词严、有理有据，武正字例证精彩、补充有力，杜少卿嬉笑怒骂，直捣要害，三个人的言辞各有特色，又互为参证，将假借孝道之名实则满足自己贪图富贵功名之心的恶风恶俗嘲骂得痛快淋漓，酣畅无比。
　　至于武正字本人的事迹，书中所及的确不多。武书出场由虞博士带出。虞博士赴任南京前，有位翰林院侍读王老先生拜托他照顾武书：这人事母至孝，极有才情。这八字考语是对武正字的最高评价，也是基本人物定位。按照武书自己的介绍，他是少年丧父，家中赤贫。早年在乡间事母，只身一人，又无弟兄，衣服饮食，都是自己整理。母亲过世，一切丧葬大事都亏了杜少卿相助，便随着杜少卿学诗有这样的明师，再加上本人极有才情，诗赋古文自然应该不会差。武正字受杜少卿影响颇深，志趣不在功名，只是为了生计（求馆容易些），才学八股时文，应考进学；然而偏偏就有奇迹屡屡发生在他身上。按照他自己对虞博士的介绍：这几位宗师，不知怎的，看见学生这个名字，就要取做一等第一，补了廪。门生那文章，其实不好；屡次考诗赋，总是一等第一。前次一位宗师，合考八学，门生又是八学的一等第一，所以送进监来。这是件趣事，然而也是一件有深意的趣事：是武母在天之灵的佑护？是王翰林人前背后屡屡的褒扬嘱托？是学府诸位宗师为其事母至孝所感动？反正武正字的品行操守当受得起这一次又一次的一等第一。
　　武正字自己过的差不多是一贫如洗的日子，但郭孝子准备入川寻父之际，他不仅热心帮郭孝子求虞博士等人的荐书，还拿家里的东西当了二两银子送给他做盘缠武书是没有家底的，他当二两比杜少卿寻衣服当四两难度要大得多。清贫而能古道热肠，这正是吴敬梓先生最看重的文行出处，尤其难得的是不事权贵。南京的大名士中，杜少卿的性情，爱憎太分明，豪绅权贵明知会碰钉子，是不敢去请的；中允随和的迟衡山、武正字是他们乐意请来为自己添雅增辉的，然而结果常常不由得他们不发牢骚：这两个人却也作怪。但凡我们请他，十回倒有九回不到。若说他当真有事，做秀才的哪里有这许多事！若说他做身份，一个秀才的身份到哪里去！就是不屑于与你们这些俗不可耐之人为伍，还不明白么？！第四十九回中，高翰林请客，武正字本想推掉，听见有迟衡山，才勉强应允了（那边恐怕也是同样的方法游说的迟先生）。二人与同席的禄蠹们话不投机，便自说梯己话，感慨：自从虞老先生离了此地，我们的聚会也渐渐的就少了。读来令人好感伤啊！（此后庄虞杜迟这一干贤人就再没有正面出现过。）席间有人要搞感情投资，张罗明日移席再聚，一个客不添，一个客不减。迟衡山、武正字不曾则一声。第二天家人去请，迟家说往句容老家去了，武家说昨晚不曾回家对待豪绅权贵，杜少卿是锋芒毕露，迟衡山、武正字是绵里藏针。
　　武正字以贫寒之士立足俗世凡尘之中，论淡定浑雅，他不如虞博士（会替虞博士恶小人，觉得不值）；论任情豪侠，他不如杜少卿；论儒雅从容，他不如迟衡山。但这些人身上共通的许多优秀品德，如洁身自好、淡薄功名、仁孝友爱、古道热肠等等，他都具备，当之无愧是儒林中的上品人物。
