天龙八部为哪八部天龙八部名字的由来

　　很多人最初知道天龙八部是因为金庸先生的同名武侠小说。天龙八部其实源于佛教，属于外来文化，它传入中土后，在中土的文化中多有表现。
　　寻词溯源
　　天龙一词原为汉土所有，指天上之龙。像大家熟悉的寓言《叶公好龙》，出自西汉刘向的《新序》，里面就说到叶公子高好龙，于是天龙闻而下之。佛教中的天龙八部则指八种神鬼，因为天、龙在其中阶位较高，为其领首，所以统称天龙八部。按照佛教的说法，天龙八部经常随从佛祖、菩萨、罗汉左右，踊跃听其说法，供养诸佛，并护卫其侧，因此也被视为佛教的护法之一。
　　根据现有的汉译佛经来看，佛教的天龙、天龙八部之说，在其传入中土的初期即已存在。东汉时期来自西域安息国的僧人安世高翻译的《佛说奈女祇域因缘经》中，就说到佛在罗阅祇国，有比丘千余人、菩萨、天龙八部等一起聚会，听其说法。天龙八部的具体名目也是在东汉时期随着佛经的翻译传入中土。比较早的涉及此事的是《大方便佛报恩经》，所载天龙八部为诸天、龙、夜叉、乾闼婆、阿修罗、迦楼罗、紧那罗、摩侯罗迦。后世关于天龙八部的名目基本上与之一致。
　　天龙八部包含着与佛教相关的八种神鬼，其中有善有恶。具体说来，这八种神鬼各有其出身、本领和性状。
　　天龙八部领头的是天。天，也称天人、诸天、天众，主要居住于佛教所谓的欲界六天及色界诸天，大致相当于中土常言的天神，包括梵天、帝释天、四大天王等天神。按照佛经中的记载，天人欢喜佛事，经常发声赞叹，散花奏乐。在相关的佛教壁画中，经常可以看到有天人飞翔、环绕在佛或菩萨的周围。
　　龙，音译那伽，和我国传说中的龙相似，但佛教的龙原来是长身而无足的，富有神力，能够行云布雨，也是佛法的守护者之一。佛经中有五龙王、七龙王、八龙王等名称。《大智度论》中载，佛祖释迦牟尼前世也曾为大力毒龙，受戒后，入林间修行，有猎人贪图其皮，以刀剥取。毒龙原来可以轻易击杀猎人，因为持戒之故，不再吝惜其身，任凭猎人剥取，失皮后入水中，又忍痛任小虫啮噬，并发愿成佛时，将以佛法度化众生，随即命终，往生忉利天。按照《正法念处经》的说法，龙也分善恶，善者为法行龙王，能按时行雨令五谷熟；恶者为非法行龙王，能行恶雨让五谷坏破。其情形和后来民间的善龙、恶龙差不多。唐宋以来的文学作品中的龙的形象，其实就是佛教中的龙和中土原有的龙的合流。
　　夜叉，又作药叉、悦叉、阅叉、野叉，意译作捷疾鬼、能啖鬼，原为印度神话中的半神的小神灵，为佛教取用。夜叉受毗沙门天王统领，有大威势。《大智度论》说夜叉有三种：地行夜叉，常得种种欢乐、音乐、饮食等；虚空夜叉，有大力，行走如风；宫殿夜叉，有种种娱乐及便身之物。《注维摩诘经》则谓夜叉有地行夜叉、虚空夜叉、天夜叉等三种。夜叉也分善恶，善者守护佛法，恶者能恼害众生，并常作头大身小，或一头两面、三面，手持刀、剑、戟等恐怖状，使人惊惧战栗，进而使见者错乱迷醉，进而夺其精魄，啖其血肉。这也是中土民间最流行的夜叉形象，它常作为地府的鬼差出现。
　　阿修罗，又作阿须罗、阿素罗、阿须伦等，略称修罗。阿修罗原是古印度神话中的恶神，佛教把它移植了过来。在佛教中，阿修罗也是性格暴躁的神灵，男丑女美，生性好斗。因为阿修罗有美女而无好食，诸天有好食而无美女，互生嫉妒，于是彼此间经常争战，惨烈异常。我们常称血腥残酷的战场为修罗场，即源于此。阿修罗的形像也有多种，或九头千眼、口中出火、九百九十手、六足、身形巨大；或三面六臂，忿怒而袒身。敦煌莫高窟之第二四九窟，画于6世纪的阿修罗像则为四臂双足，身呈赤色，且上半身赤裸。它又与地狱、饿鬼、畜生、人、天形成六道世界，为众生轮回降生的一道。
　　迦楼罗，也作迦留罗、迦娄罗等。迦楼罗原是印度神话中性情暴烈、体型巨大的神鸟，翅膀一张开有数千余里、甚至数百万里之广。因为其翅膀为金色，所以称金翅鸟。但实际上，其羽翼由众宝交织而成，妙相种种，不止为金色，所以又称妙翅鸟。迦楼罗出生之时光彩耀眼，诸天曾误认为是火天神而加以礼拜。迦楼罗以诸龙为食，一日可食一龙王和五百小龙。其所扇之风，如果入人眼，则会导致失明。
　　乾闼婆，又作犍闼婆、彦达婆等，是一种不食酒肉、只以寻香气作为食物的神，是与紧那罗一起侍奉帝释、专事奏乐歌唱的乐神。其形象有的说是多毛、半人半兽，有的说是俊美异常。乾闼婆又是观音菩萨三十三相的一种，其形象是身呈赤色，如大牛王，左手执箫笛，右手持宝剑，髻有焰鬘冠。乾闼婆在梵语中又是变幻莫测的意思，古印度将海市蜃楼叫作乾闼婆城，佛经中常用此词来形容诸法的幻化无常。
　　紧那罗，又作紧捺洛、真陀罗等，后又译作歌神、歌乐神、音乐天。因为紧那罗似人而有角，故又名人非人。它来自于印度神话。佛经中，它具有美妙的音声，能歌善舞，是帝释的乐神，经常出现在佛的说法法会中。佛经中说，紧那罗男则马首人身能歌，女则端正能舞，并多与乾闼婆婚配。
　　摩侯罗迦，又作摩侯罗伽、摩护罗哦、摩伏勒，意译作地龙、大蟒神、大蟒蛇。摩侯罗迦也属乐神，其形为蛇首人身。佛经中言其体内多嗔虫啃食，因而痛苦异常。
　　天龙八部虽各有其形貌性情，但都受佛的威德感化，敬信佛法，护持佛法，并多参与、礼赞佛事，是佛教庞大的护法神灵系统的重要组成部分。
