天龙八部中为何段誉和虚竹还是打不过萧峰

　　逍遥派作为金庸小说世界最神奇的门派之一，有众多绝妙神功，练到大成时每个穴道吸人内力的北冥神功，天下轻功独绝的凌波微步，号称破尽天下武功招式的天山折梅手，可以随意驱使各门各派武功的小无相功，让人求生不得求死不能的诡测暗器生死符，能让人返老还童的八荒六合唯我独尊功（《新修版》叫天长地久不老长春功），甚至连逍遥派的剑法，都能让其他门派看到几招剑影，就以为是仙人舞剑，如痴如醉
　　然而，虚竹这个逍遥派掌门人，被作者金庸开了整个金庸小说世界里最夸张的外挂，得到逍遥派三大绝顶高手无崖子、李秋水、天山童姥的大部分功力，身兼北冥神功、小无相功、八荒六合唯我独尊功、天山六阳掌、天山折梅手、生死符等等绝妙武功，
　　在新修版《天龙八部》中，虚竹甚至因为内力深厚，身具模拟天下武功招式的小无相功，仅仅一个晚上就能学会萧峰传下的全套打狗棒法，和降龙十八掌。
　　可惜虚竹的实战表现，却是面对没有使出自己最大绝招火焰刀，而且让了半只手的鸠摩智，只能勉强打平；少室山大战本派叛徒、头号大敌丁春秋，前后大战整整几百招，需要自己婢女提醒，才出生死符拿下对手；和徒具冰寒内力、招式粗浅的游坦之，对拼一招平手；和段誉两个人，被萧峰一掌就逼得同时后退，抢去辽国皇帝
　　另一个主角段誉，就更不用提了，不止是拉低了逍遥派两大绝学北冥神功和凌波微步，甚至连《天龙八部》世界中能和《易筋经》齐名的顶级绝学，大理段氏镇族至宝六脉神剑，也被他的拙劣武功表现拉得太低：
　　即使在他辉煌的少室山一战，也只不过是在萧峰的指点和支援下，惊险地反败为胜，击败boss团里最弱的慕容复，而且若无萧峰援手，还差点被慕容复最后反杀；
　　在西夏招亲事件中，双方立场已经敌对的情况下，段誉居然还会被慕容复连续使诈，几乎秒杀性质的生擒两回。
　　段誉的六脉神剑也好、北冥神功也好、凌波微步也罢，看似绝顶高手的顶级神功配置，无奈主人废柴到了家，连十分之一的效率也发挥不出来。
　　段誉的战斗意识更是差得离谱，最后在继续开外挂，平白得了绝顶高手鸠摩智的一生内正有辱师门的是谁？
　　正因为化功大法直接化人内力，各种毒功、毒粉、毒针、毒虫层出不穷，见者立毙，还有能直接蛊惑人心，让观棋的慕容复和段延庆这等高手都差点自杀的摄心邪功，
　　所以对大多数江湖武人而言，丁春秋的威慑力不但肯定高于虚竹、段誉这种对敌宅心仁厚，不下杀手的半吊子高手，甚至连鸠摩智这等绝顶高手亦有所不及。因此，在珍珑棋局，围观的鸠摩智、段延庆、慕容复等高手，才会竟然一度起了一哄而上、围攻丁春秋的念头。
　　当虚竹这个少林寺小和尚，在段延庆暗助下，误打误撞破了珍珑棋局，被瘫痪了三十年的无崖子收为徒弟后。无崖子将自己体内的七十年逍遥派神功（包括北冥神功和小无相功）尽数传给了虚竹。按理来说，虚竹体内积蓄的功力，已经大大强过了丁春秋这个叛徒。然而，无崖子却依然认为，这时的虚竹肯定不是丁春秋的敌手。
　　这就是因为，以无崖子身为绝顶高手的眼力，当然很容易看出，虚竹二十四岁还只是个少林寺不入流小沙弥，证明他绝对不属于天赋异禀的武学天赋，在战斗经验、应变能力上，都属于武林不入流水准，即使承受了自己全部内力，也很难在实战中将之发挥完全，所以绝不会是战斗经验丰富、性格阴险毒辣的丁春秋敌手。
　　这也就解答了《天龙八部》书中一个长久的疑问：无崖子为何要苦等三十年，苦心孤诣摆设珍珑棋局？他如果是为了报仇，直接把功力传给大徒弟苏星河不好么？苏星河本身武功表现，也是玄难大师那个级数的一流高手了，难道再加七十年本门功力，还敌不过丁春秋么？
　　确实很大几率敌不过。或者有可能胜出，无十足把握，所以无崖子才不敢轻易冒险。
　　所以无崖子在传功虚竹后，才会要虚竹去寻自己师妹兼前妻李秋水，就是希望她能看在夫妻旧情，将逍遥派的高深武功招式，传授给自己挑选的传人。
　　虚竹后面的表现也证明了，他空有70年功力，却受制于经验匮乏、性情仁厚，难以发挥，在童姥和李秋水两大高手面前，形同被各种支使与戏弄的婴孩。力，又是自己父母生命垂危的生死关头，居然还不知道先把蒙眼睛的黑布拿掉，只会凭空乱点剑气
