　　灭绝师太为什么和明教不共戴天
　　自古以来，正邪不两立，而金庸笔下的灭绝师太似乎是这一理念最坚定的执行者。因为从她一出场，就表现出了对明教的种种深恶痛疾，为了要灭掉明教，她执着到近乎偏执，竟然在临死之前逼着自己的弟子周芷若发下毒誓，让她利用美色去诱骗张无忌，从而获取倚天剑和屠龙刀。
　　为了报复明教，灭绝师太已经确实是开始无所不用其极。
　　也就是说，灭绝师太的这番所谓的大道理下面，必然隐藏着一些不为人知的心思。而这些心思，自然才是让她与明教为仇的真正原因。纵览倚天屠龙记全书，结合上下文，我们不难看出，她对明教的仇恨，其实是因两个人而起。
　　这两个人，就是杨逍和谢逊。
　　关于杨逍，灭绝师太曾亲口说，是他间接害死了自己的师兄孤鸿子，也是他害得本来在峨眉派手中的倚天剑失落，落入到了朝廷的手中。杨逍与峨眉派的恩怨纠葛并没有就此结束，后来杨逍竟然又突然和峨眉派的纪晓芙发生了关系，而得知真相的灭绝师太当下便要求纪晓芙以此为契机，杀了杨逍，为峨眉派报仇。
　　可是，纪晓芙却不肯听从她的命令，这让灭绝这个老尼姑瞬间恼羞成怒，当下她便毫不留情地杀害了纪晓芙。按照灭绝师太喜欢迁怒于人的性格，她自然将这笔仇又记到了杨逍、记到了明教账上。
　　杨逍与灭绝师太的恩怨就此而来，而谢逊与灭绝倒是没有正面的交集。不过，谢逊却是杀害了灭绝师太最亲近之人。
　　众所周知，谢逊本来是成昆的弟子，后来成昆为了向明教复仇选择了对谢逊一家人下手，下手之后便躲了起来。谢逊此时为了逼着他现身，便到处作案，并且留下名号杀人者混元霹雳手成昆，而灭绝师太的亲哥哥方评就这样无辜地被牵连致死。
　　灭绝师太出家前俗姓方，现如今虽然已经出家，但是这份亲情关系自然没有因此而斩断。
　　也就是说，灭绝师太的亲哥哥、她的师兄（极有可能是她所爱慕之人）包括她的徒弟都是因为杨逍、谢逊二人而死，而杨逍乃是明教光明左使，谢逊乃是四大护教法王之一，如此一来，灭绝师太自然就将这所有的仇恨都记到了明教的头上。
　　所以她才会表现出与明教的那般不共戴天，而与真正的所谓正邪观念，并没有多少关系。
　　作为峨眉派的掌门人，金庸笔下的灭绝师太，原则性很强。非但如此，她还坚持自己永远都是正确的。一个认为自己永远都是正确的人，行事心狠手辣、毫不留情、人情味单薄，也是很容易理解的。
　　一码事归一码事，灭绝老尼行事乖张的时候，挺讨人厌的。
　　但她也有可取之处。
　　她虽然是女流之辈，但武功高强，不让须眉。想想，这在《倚天屠龙记》中是很难得的。毕竟，倚天中，郭襄未出场，黄衫女虽然神功盖世，但只在后来打了个酱油，周芷若也厉害过一阵子，但她纯粹是投机取巧不可取。
