儒林外史沈琼枝的武功跟谁学的

　　先前写过一篇关于《儒林外史》人物沈琼枝的读书心得。虽然书读了很多遍，然而还是不够细致，未得甚解。一直将沈琼枝认作一位文弱女子，赞叹她的秀外慧中，有勇有谋，知书达理，敢做敢当，却也一直在心里暗暗为其捏了一把汗。近日经几位朋友热心探讨、指正，知道沈琼枝不仅有文秀，且是一位武林高手，所以敢只身入虎穴，大胆走江湖。在下心里更是佩服，好一位文武双全的奇女子，为我巾帼争辉。由此又想到一个多少有些八卦的问题，就是：沈琼枝的武功出自何人？
　　沈琼枝的武功肯定不是出自其父。沈大年是个地道的文弱书生，只会到县衙喊冤呈状，输了官司也只会老实受气。沈琼枝的武功或出自其母，当然也是可能的。然而书中未交待沈母事迹（仅是沈琼枝对杜夫人自我介绍时提到一句先母已经去世），连婚姻大事也都是父女二人商议决定。而且沈大年还不大拿主意，一切放心让女儿自己做主。倒像沈琼枝是自幼丧母，自己做惯了家中女主人似的。如果按照这个思路设想下去，对沈琼枝的武功出自，倒有另外一种解说得通的推测当然纯粹是推测，所以我自己也觉得有些八卦得不好意思。
　　我的推测是，如果沈琼枝自幼丧母，那么沈大年从江南到松潘边陲就应该是将女儿带在身边的。按照年龄推算，在松潘青枫城那几年，应该正是沈琼枝的童年、少年时代无论习文还是练武，都是开蒙的最佳时期。习文有沈大年自家教授不用说；提到练武，那时倒当真有两位可以做得沈琼枝明师的：通部《儒林外史》中最具光彩的人物之一、儒将萧云仙和他的副手木耐。他们都是沈大年的好友，是沈琼枝的长辈，且松潘边陲民风古朴，自然无邪，不似江南那样过分强调男女大防，所以沈琼枝从他们习武是完全有可能的。
　　这两位都是一流武林高手。萧云仙的父亲萧昊轩与木耐的师父郭孝子年轻时武功齐名，都是可上华山论剑的武学名家。萧云仙与木耐分别得其亲传，武功之高自然也可以想象（木耐从师时间甚短，所以不敌萧云仙，但教沈琼枝是绝对够资格的）。萧氏父子的家传绝学弹子功，颇类桃花岛主的弹指神通（或者应该反过来说），看似敏巧却以威力神功为后盾，内外兼修；郭孝子的功夫以刀法、拳法见长，与全真派、洪七公是一路。沈琼枝从其中任何一人习学，武功都不会弱，若是同时得到两位高手的指点，那就更不用说了。书中所写沈琼枝武功路数或可为此做一佐证。
　　按照书中的描写，沈琼枝的武功应该不是古墓派那类以巧力取胜的阴柔功夫。武正字猜度沈琼枝来历时说她那般轻倩的装饰，虽则觉得柔媚，只一双手指却像讲究勾、搬、冲的，后来沈琼枝收拾官差时又是一招就把对方打了个仰八叉。从这些文字中都可以想见，沈琼枝的相貌身段虽然可能有几分像小龙女，手上功夫却倒更近于郭大侠，是以实打实的外家功夫（正像一位朋友说的，如果是借力打力，差人当摔个狗啃泥才是）。
　　所以，猜测沈琼枝的武功师承自萧云仙与木耐，并非毫无道理的异想天开当然，前提是那些年沈琼枝确在松潘。就是这一点，吴敬梓先生没有明说，所以我不敢肯定。然而书中不肯明说之处本来不少，作为一种可能聊备一说，也是可以的吧。我想应该有很多读者和我一样，希望沈琼枝的师父真的是萧云仙和木耐。果真如此的话，《儒林外史》同时也是一部《武林外传》了，多过瘾！
