儒林外史王太荆元人物形象及性格特点分析

　　他是小说最后一章被作者塑造的四个理想人物之一。他祖代是三牌楼卖菜的，到他父亲手里，穷了，把菜园都卖掉了。他自小儿最喜下围棋，后来父亲死，他无以为生，每日到虎踞关一带卖火纸筒过活。一日，妙意庵做会，有三四个大老官族拥着两个人在那里下棋，号称是天下的国手。王太挨着身子上前去偷看，小厮们看他穿的褴楼，推推搡搡，不许他上前。底下坐的主人问他是否会下棋，他只是嘻嘻笑，说：略晓得些。那些人与他下棋，本是想让他出丑的，没想到他的棋厉害，只下了半盘，那姓马的就输了。众人大惊，要拉着王太吃酒。王太大笑道：天下哪里还有个快活似杀矢棋的事！我杀过矢棋心里快活极了，哪里还吃得下酒！说毕，哈哈大笑，头也不回就去了。

　　他是作者塑造的由着自己性子活着，不为世俗所束缚的理想人物。他是个裁缝，每日替人家做活，余下工夫就弹琴写字，也极喜欢做诗。在当时看来，做裁缝是极低贱的活，别人便问他：你既要做雅人，为甚么还要做你这贵行？他说：吃饱了饭，要弹琴，要写字，诸事都由得我。又不贪图人的富贵，又不伺候人的颜色，天不收，地不管，倒不快活？一日，荆元来到清凉山下，与一位种田的老者品茶闲聊，十分羡慕老爹的清闲自在，在老爹的邀请下，次日抱了琴来到清凉山，与老爹席地而坐，弹了起来。铿铿锵锵，声振林木，那些鸟雀闻之，都栖息枝间窃听。弹了一会，忽作变徵之音，凄清宛转，老者听到深微之处，不觉凄然泪下。文到此处，可以看出，二位得道之人，虽无言语交流，然其魂魄相交已达很深的默契境界。
