　　梅芳姑是个怎样的人？
　　梅芳姑是丁不四和梅文馨的私生女，习得丁梅两家武学，年纪轻轻就成为梅花拳掌门人，除此也善於文学和烹饪，加上长相美丽，是个才貌出众的女强人。梅芳姑心仪上清观门人石清，无奈石清却锺情於虽然温柔美貌，但却样样不如梅芳姑的师妹闵柔。梅芳姑失恋後上门报复情敌，将年幼的石中坚夺去，石清夫妇後来看到被以为是石破天的死婴，把梅芳姑视为杀子仇人决计雪恨。梅芳姑则隐居在熊耳山枯草岭，为了洩愤，自毁容貌。根据後文推断，石破天极有可能就是被夺去的石中坚，被梅芳姑收为养子後改名为狗杂种，而且梅芳姑对他态度十分恶劣。
　　幸好石破天本性善良，反而对她十分孝敬。几年後的某天梅芳姑不知何故外出许久未归，下山寻母的石破天因此开始涉入江湖。後来寻女的梅文馨在侠客岛上得知梅芳姑居处，辗转被史小翠告知石清夫妇，石清夫妇、助拳的雪山派众人和不知情的石破天跟著前往讨公道时，才知道梅芳姑和石破天是母子关系。石清向梅芳姑表达出他为何选择闵柔的原因後，梅芳姑伤心下自杀身亡。梅文馨抱起梅芳姑的遗体，露出点有守宫砂的手臂，众人发现梅芳姑仍是处子。

　　《侠客行》的最后，从丁不四和史小翠的情孽中，引出了丁不四昔年情人梅文馨的故事。从梅文馨身上，又引出梅芳姑与石清之间的情孽来。梅芳姑抢去石中坚之后，在仇恨和怪癖中把石中坚养大，而且还给他取了一个狗杂种的名字。梅芳姑的孽情最为可叹，石清坦然承认，梅芳姑比之闵柔，不管是论相貌，论武功，论文字，论针线之巧，烹饪之精，无一不是要高明得多，所以梅芳姑无论如何也想不通，石清在她和闵柔之间，为何要选远不及她的闵柔。
